Oh yes, it's called esophageal spasms!. It happens when too much acid splashes against your esophagus and it is very painful!. I am on medication for that!. You need to see a gastroenterologist!. Drink warm water or anything warm, except coffee because that will only cause more acid!. I bet it feels better when you drink!. I hate the lump feeling because it seems it last forever!. Get some over the counter antacids, like prilosec while you're waiting to see the doctor!. Good luck, I sure know your pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
