What does a cancer tumor look like on an ultrasound?!

Question: What does a cancer tumor look like on an ultrasound!?
I have a lump on my parotid gland and had an ultrasound today!. Can anyone tell me what a cancerous tumor looks like on an ultrasound!?
Is it a black spot, kind of like a round hole in the middle of all the white!? Or is it a whiter spot!?
Please help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
My impression, from having sneaked looks at my ultrasounds when I had to transport them to the surgeon, is that the tumor area was whitish, looking like a child's scribble!. Dark would have been a better sign as that could have indicated a cyst (fluid-filled)!.

SP, biopsies confirm cancer when ultrasounds can't resolve the question!. Many suspicious findings can be resolved with ultrasound!. They go to biopsy only if the ultrasound doesn't rule out malignancy!.

Isa, dark is a good sign and if the dark area is very round and smooth, that's a good sign!. Try not to worry!. You'll know soon enough !.!.!. best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is not so much what it looks like but the fact that there is something there that should not be there!. Usually and I mean usually, they are white with an ultrasound, but that is not always the case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry, but you are wrong!. Only a BIOPSY can tell you what it is!. You can't tell on an ultrasound except for the fact that it is something that shouldn't be there!. An ultrasound only confirms that!. Nothing else and nothing more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only way to tell is to biopsy it, you can't tell by the color!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
