Question: I have a sore on the top of my vagina what could it be!?
Do you think it could be herpes!? I'm going to the Doctor tomorrow but I'm curious if anyone has experienced this!? It started off being very itchy and I caught myself scratching it while I was sleeping so now it hurts really bad!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be!. Herpes usually comes in little blister-like clusters that are itchy!. If it is herpes, the doctor will probably have you take something like "Valtrex" to help with future outbreaks!. Good luck to you! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
It could be herpes but it could be something as simple as an ingrown hair!.
See what the doctor says!. If they suspect it to be herpes, I'd request a blood test along with a culture of the sore!. Cultures are time sensitive and if not done soon enough can give false negatives!. Blood tests will say if you have herpes (hsv-1-usually oral but can be genital or hsv-2-usually just genital) but not where you have it!. So if you ever had a cold sore it would come back positive for hsv-1, and you would not know if that was causing your sore down there for sure!. If its positive for both hsv-1 and hsv-2 that would mean you have cold sores and genital herpes!.

It could come from shaving!. It's fairly common to get ingrown hairs when you shave your vagina!. I really wouldn't worry unless you have reason to believe you may have contracted herpes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
