Answers:
The gap was caused by your cardiac function being impaired, and the blood pressure in your aorta (the lower figure, the diastolic) was too low because blood was running-out of it (into the smaller blood vessels of the organs) faster than it could be replenished by the heart!.

The heart, however, was trying to compensate as best it could, and did this by contracting with greater than normal force, to eject as much blood as possible at each stroke, and clearly, it did a fair job, because you survived!.

The big difference between the top (systolic) reading and the bottom one directly reflects the amount of additional blood volume it (the heart) had to pump out at each beat!.

Blood pressure is recorded as two numbers, such as 120/80 mm Hg (millimeters of mercury)!. The top, larger number is called the systolic pressure!. This is the pressure generated when the heart contracts (pumps)!. It reflects the pressure of the blood against arterial walls!. The bottom, smaller number is called the diastolic pressure!. This reflects the pressure in the arteries while the heart is filling and resting between heartbeats!. The normal range for both systolic and diastolic blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg!. High blood pressure (also called hypertension) is defined as a consistently elevated blood pressure of 140 mm Hg systolic and 90 mm Hg diastolic or higher!.
Changes in blood pressure may depend on several regulating mechanisms such as physical exertion, as well as body weight and height!. Basically 135/65 is normal!. If you have any further concerns check with your physician!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes the blood pressure can be affected by the allergic reactions!. If you are concerned about the variations of your blood pressure, you need to go to a qualified physician and ask them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The top one is a little high, but the bottom is a little low!. Monitor it on a regular basis, and let your doctor know about the variations!. FYI this morning mine was 151/135!. No need to be too concerned, but you do need to keep track!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
