If you're not having sex, then why do you post questions like this on Yahoo Answers:
"I took the Plan B pills a week ago and got my period today and had it like 2 weeks ago is this normal!?"

You would get the STD right away, but it might not be detectable for weeks or months!. In the case of Hepatitis C or HIV, detection can take years!.

To address your other questions on Yahoo Answers:
Between STDs and unwanted pregnancies, these are the reasons why Christ tells us to be chaste!. You're just adding a ton of unnecessary stress and complication to your life and encouraging the men in your life to look below your pantyline instead of into your heart!.

This is also why many people avoid pot, cigarettes, and other habit-forming items because even in small amounts they can cloud judgment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Seconds! If bodily fluids were exchanged (semen, vaginal secretions, etc!. Not saliva though) during sex and your partner was carrying an STD, there is a high possibility that you could have it now!. Get tested asap if fluids were exchanged as STD's have various harmful and damaging effects on you!. Good luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you get an STD you are going to get it DURING sex, not after!. If you are wanting to know how long it takes the symptoms to manifest then it depends on what type of STD you are talking about, some don't have any symptoms!. If you suspect you have contracted an STD go to the family planning clinic and get tested ASAP and whatever you do, do not go have unprotected sex with anyone else in the meantime!. Many STDs, including HIV, have no symptoms soon after infection (It can take years to see symptoms of HIV infection!.)!. The only way to find out if you are infected is to get tested!. More than 98% of people would test positive for HIV within 3 months after they get infected, but in rare cases, it could take up to 6 months for someone to test positive!. Other STDs would show up sooner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when you have the sex you have contracted whatever it is that you now have!. so you HAVE the illness
now how long does it take to show up!? that' really depends on the person and their health

sometimes people don't even realize they are affected
that's part of the problem right thereWww@Answer-Health@Com

You're talking about the symptoms of course since you get the disease shortly after the actual sex is over!. How long it takes symptoms to appear depends on what you catch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you get the std during the act, but depending on the std, it can take hours, days, weeks, months etc to show itself!.

itchy!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Um you can show symptoms in as little as a day or two!. While serving inthe Marine Corps there were several men that had symptoms within a day or two!. And it doestn take 10 years for HIV to show up either!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

how long after sex can you catch something!? that is the question right!? immediately!! you catch it while having sex you may not know it right away but if they got it you got itWww@Answer-Health@Com

DUDE ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!!? are you seriously asking this question!?!!? You are not allowed to have sex! Not untill you use your friggin common sence to figure your question out yourself!Www@Answer-Health@Com
