Side effect from Elavil (Amitriptyline)?!

Question:

Side effect from Elavil (Amitriptyline)?

Okay, so I was put on Elavil (25 mg) for my severe migraines. I've been on it for over three months and I know this isn't right but, should I be seriously concerned?
I was going into a room and my vision half went and I could not see in true colors. At first I thought it was normal and it was just the lighting and I would blink it off. I blinked and blinked and my vision got worse until it actually went. I just stood there, blinded, and then I had this TERRIBLE pain (it did not feel like any of my migraines and it felt like my head was exploding). I feel down, holding my head and was literally crying but, it went as soon as it came. My vision didn't come back as fast and when it did, it came back partly and not in true colors. I went to get up and it almost went again.. Should I be seriously concerned/seek my neurologist immediately?
I might also add, I overdosed about a month before it happened and took in about 25 pills. I am 13 and 100 lbs. Could that be related?

I have been to a neurologist since I have always had terrible headaches for as long as I can remember and I usually can't walk when I have a migraine.

They checked me for tumors before (MRI was done) and they said everything was perfectly normal. They said something was large (although I forget what. I do remember that they assured me it was normal) and they put me on the Elavil.

And yes, I know that my overdose was something terrible. I assure you, I've had professional help and my neurologist knows about my old suicidal thoughts/self harm. I never plan to overdose again because that overdose scared me dearly.

You might want to seek the advice of a neurologist or neurosurgeon. You could also have an eye Dr look into your eyes as they can detect some tumors. You need to back off of the overdoses there. Not only could this cause blindness but it can cause liver, kidney and heart damage too. You may have been feeling down at that particular time but there may be a time in the future that you would like to have healthy organs. After you find out what is wrong with you physically you may want to seek the advice of a physciatrist or counselor too. Sounds like you might need an impartial ear to talk to about what made you take an over dose of a lethal medication at your age. Good luck, honey, I sure hope you are okay. But you need to tell your parents about this episode and get a CT scan done to be sure you have no tumors going on up there.
