I'm paranoid about having HIV?!

Question: I'm paranoid about having HIV!?
I had sex last June 11,2008!. Since then I have not had sex!. I was "inside" for only a few seconds so I don't think there was any fluid exchange!. Two weeks after I got tested (it was negative)!. I then got tested again September 10, 2008, which is about three months after ( still negative)!. I have recently had throat pain,it hurts when I swallow, which is a symptom of HIV!. I have not had sex since that time but I'm still pretty paranoid!. After having two test am I still being stupidly worried about it or should I go for a third!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

First you are not stupid about worrying, maybe a little over concerned, but you only have one life and it sounds like you want to take care of yourself!. Having had 2 tests, especially by the dates you gave we would say in our clinic that you are fine!. I agree, but if you need a little extra peace of mind, retest in a week or so and you will have your answer!.

Most people that I work with that are HIV+ remember having flu like symptoms around the time they became infected!. But not as far "out" as you are from your experience!. The mind does strange things when we worry a lot, or it could just be this time of year as the seasons change!. I have had allergies for the first time in my life and I am over 50!.

It sounds like you are fine, the next time you have sex make sure you have condoms!. (You didn't state if you had used them or not, but the fluid exchange lead me to think not!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are extremely paranoid after having unprotected sex, it is good that you are very conscious that you made a mistake but, you need to stop driving yourself crazy!. Repeat your test one year from the date of intercourse!. Buy yourself a big box of rubbers so that you have one at all times!. A sore throat is a very common symptom of the common cold or flu virus, it doesn't indicate HIV by itself!. Be sure to always have protected sex and when you have your next test come back negative-RELAX about it!. You can't freak yourself out forever over this mistake!. Live and learn and remember this feeling so that you don't give into temptation and have unprotected sex again!. I don't think you can take it mentally!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I definitely think you'r over reacting!. Was there protection used!? If there was, then you really really have nothing to worry about!. And if not, 3 months later, something should definitely have showed up!. Take one more test in 2 month's time, (if you can wait that long without cracking up!!) and WHEN it comes back negative, forget about it and move on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

See a doctor about your symptoms!. As far as I know, sore throat and painful swallowing are not signs of HIV!. Most people have NO symptoms of HIV until years after infection, although some people get flu-like symptoms within a couple months!.

More than 98% of people test positive within 3 months!. In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for someone to test positive!.

You're being stupid if throat pain is all you got and you're worried about having HIV!. Do you realize how many things the symptoms of throat pain and hurting when you swallow can cover!? You've had negative tests, get over it, stop worrying yourself!. Get tested again in a year and then forget about it!. You probably just have strep throat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get tested again if there is reason to believe your partner is HIV+ If your partner is not, get tested and/or treated for strep throat!

By the way, that paranoia sounds pretty healthy!. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean you're not at risk for HIV!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If i were you i would continie getting tested!.!.!.especially if there is signs because somtimes it takes months for it to show up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
