If You Eat A Meal Too Fast, Can That Give You A Shortness of Breath Right After !

Question: If You Eat A Meal Too Fast, Can That Give You A Shortness of Breath Right After Your Done!?
Well, sometimes I eat way too fast!. Not that I am intending too, but it happens!. I am trying to slow down doing that and I have improved!.

Well when I eat slow, I usually don't get a shortness of breath right after!. Like I can't breathe as well!. Nothing too major at all!.

But when I do eat fast, I get pretty full out of nowhere and then my breathing feels restricted for about twenty minutes or sometime depending on what I eat and how much, and then, after that twenty minutes, it goes back to normal and I feel fine again!. But this only happens when I eat pretty fast!.

Is that normal!? I am going to the Doctors within the next couple of days for a normal check up and should I bring this up just to be sure!?

I feel fine!. I'm athletic, I exercise, I run and do a lot outdoors and never had a heart problem or anything that made me quit!. I did have bronchitis as a child (over 10 years ago) but once that went away (which lasted about a month), I felt perfectly fine!.

Just wondering!. Thanks for your answers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like when you eat to fast you are aspirating some of your food and getting air in your stomach!.

The food in your lungs causes the difficulty breathing and the air causes you to fell full!.

I don't think you need to see your doctor for this but if it makes you fell better it would not hurt!. Just slow done and enjoy your food it is one of the great pleasures in life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not saying that it is, but you should make sure your doctor does an EKG!. Even if you are very healthy, you could possibly have blockages in some cardiac arteries!. This is a typical question that cardiologists ask their patient's!. When you have any artery going to your heart that becomes narrowed, this decreases blood flow!. When you eat, especially a large meal, blood flow is redirected for digestion, causing less blood to your heart, which in turn is the cause of chest pain or shortness of breath!. I work in a cardiac ICU and I am always so amazed at some of the stories I hear!. You never know, but I would definitely play it safe!. Hopefully, you just need to relax and eat slower!! Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
