STD & HIV - Where can I get checked?!

Let's say for example I want to have a baby with my partner, and I want to make sure whether or not I am clean of any STD's (or STI's as they're called now) or HIV's!.!.!.!.

Where do I go!?!.!.!.

I'm in Australia at the moment, and I was wondering, how is it done!?

And also, is it quick & painless!.!.!. or a slow, waiting process!?
