What are the dangers of isolation?!

Question: What are the dangers of isolation!?
It's probably been about 5 months that a close friend of mine had a breakdown that i don't fully understand!. He has been home isolated for that long, rarely going, even if I ask him to hang with me he wont!. It's like he isn't motivated to do anything with his life even if it is to go out and have fun!. Does anyone know why that is!? I'm worried that he might commit suicide or something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There really isn't enough info to go on to fully answer your question but I'll give you a try!.!.!.!.
First you have to figure out what caused his break down, then try to get him to open up with you about it, or anyone about it really!.
Remember that as long as he still leaves the house, even if it's only rarely, he's not in danger of becoming a hermit, he's just not wanting to associate with people!.!.!.I can understand that people generally suck we are mostly a self serving lot!.
Does he have hobbies!? As long as he does something, he's not in danger of having to be treated, I'm sure he'll eventually come out of his hole!.
The only real danger of isolation is that you become (as I refer to it) socially retarded, meaning it's hard to be around people with out saying or doing something that's not generally acceptable behavior, like blurting out things with out censoring to account for people's feelings and stuff like that!.
You may want to talk with your friend's family about him!.!.!.but don't jump to the conclusion that just because he wants to be alone he's going to kill himself!. There are lots of times where I'll go weeks with out going out of the house or talking to people that don't live with me!.
Also, his version of fun and your version of fun can be completly different!. We all change, in some way shape or form, we all go through changes in life!.!.!.because of bad things or good things or just new people coming into our lives!.
I hope your friend comes out of this but don't push him, just try to support him the best you can!. Go sit with him, just sit there with him don't push for answeres or push to try to get him out of the house, be a friend and support him and eventually he'll open up, when that time comes listen with out judging!. A lot of people don't open up because they don't want to be judged!. Share what you have been doing with him, share some of your problems (no matter how small they seem in comparison) because if you open up with him, he'll realize that he can open up with you!. ok well if your friend has had a breakdown surely he should be recieving some sort of after care which should mean helping him to get on with his life after this has happened!. Maybe if this is not happening it should be requested as he needs to get on with his life and maybe he might (i dont know if he is scared to go out of the house as you never said) but he might have agrophobia (i think its that) basically a fear of open spaces n might also mean leaving the house!. He needs support and its great to hear your trying to help but you have to be slightly more understanding as a breakdown can ruin someones life!. He is going to need alot of years to get over this!.!. i just hope it all goes well for you both and back to the point!.!. please ask citizens adivce or your local council to see if they can help to give him the support he needs!.!.!. good luck Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'll probably never fully understand, but that is o!.k!. You seem like a concerned, supportive friend and that is all you need to be!. Sounds like he has major depression!. I'm no expert but I know even for myself at times being alone with your thoughts 24/7 for too long - in his case months on end - cannot be a good thing!.!.!.this is not participating in and living life!.
What was the cause of his breakdown!? Did something major happen to bring it on!? I would encourage him (the way only a friend knows how) to seek professional help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
