STD facts for teens about unprotected sex.?!

Question: STD facts for teens about unprotected sex!.!?
I have read a lot of questions from young adults about health risks by having unprotected sex!. I'm a 29 year old male that has never had an STD!. I take that back, I got a yeast infection from my exwife once ( yes guys can get a yeast infection from their partner)!. I can still count my sexual partners on one hand; statistically that's quite low!. One of the reasons why it is low is because I am scared to death (no pun intended) about getting an STD!. Here's some statistics about unprotected sex!. Please read and take to heart!

"1 in 4 sexually active teens become infected with an STD every year," (Teen Sex and Pregnancy, The Alan Guttmacher Institute, New York, 1996)!. Just 1 in 4, and these STD's include Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Genital Warts, Herpes and HIV!.

CDC estimates that approximately 19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them among young people ages 15 to 24!.

The rate of P&S syphilis among men has risen 54 percent over the past five years (from 3!.7 per 100,000 in 2002 to 5!.7 per 100,000 in 2006)

Two-thirds of all STDs occur in people 25 years of age or younger!.
One in four new STD infections occur in teenagers!.

In the United States, the number of people affected by:

Chlamydia: 4 million
Trichomoniasis ("trich"): 3 million
Gonorrhea ("clap"): 1!.1 million
Genital Warts (HPV): 750,000
Genital Herpes: 40 million, with as many as 500,000 new cases each year
Hepatitis B: 300,000
Syphilis: 120,000
HIV: 1 million, with as many as 45,000 new AIDS cases reported each year

One in five Americans has genital herpes, yet 90 percent of those with herpes are unaware they have it!.
At least one in four Americans will contract an STD at some point in their lives!.
HPV and chlamydia are the most common STDs in the United States!.

I hope this makes all of you more aware of the risk factors!. The lesson; yes it can happen to you, use a condom, be smart, do not be promiscuous, know your partner, and most, get tested even if you do not have symptoms!. Random sex is not worth your health!
