Answers:
1!. make her stop drinking !!!!!! This is just crazy - with active hepatitis C PLUS alcohol, she is guaranteeing cirrhosis or even liver cancer !

2!. The hepatitis C antibody test has no value to you - if she were infected years ago, this is the wrong test to order!.

3!. you did not say whether she received HCV TREATMENT or not!. If she did, then the doctor is probably testing her for post-treatment HCV viral load - if this is negative now, it's a good sign, but you need to repeat it 6 months after stopping treatment to see if she is actually cured, or whether it comes back!.

There are lots of details about your case that just cannot be discussed over the internet - please call your doctor who knows the case and get the REAL answers to your questions!. This would be a great topic for a 30 - 45 minute office follow - up visit -- far too much discussion for yahoo answers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

False negative means that the test result was negative, but by mistake, and really it's positive!. It was just a mistake in the test, most likely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

False negative: test came up negative (probably due to compromised/insufficient sample) but is actually positive!.

You know it's positive because she has tested positive several times before and Hep C is incurable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
