Questions about Basal Cell Carcinoma-Wife just diagnosed?!

Question: Questions about Basal Cell Carcinoma-Wife just diagnosed!?
I'm obviously nervous about this even though from what I've researched, it's usually treatable!. It concerns me that she is only 30, although she used to tan a lot and I'm sure that's how it happened!. Here are my questions:

Does developing this so young make her more prone to developing totally different types of cancer in the future!?

An ear, nose, and throat doctor is scheduled to remove it but who would be a more specialized type of doctor to do this!?

Do you know of people who have had this and not had re-occurence after a long time period!. Thanks!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I am an ear, nose and throat surgeon and we are trained to remove skin cancers from the face and neck area, and just as importantly, to reconstruct the defect that removal leaves behind(in fact I just did such a procedure today)!. If you have doubts ask your doctor how frequently he does this type of procedure!.

basal cell carcinoma is almost always cured with surgical excision, although local recurrences can happen!. They are almost exclusively related to sun or UV light exposure!. Having a BCC doesnt put her at any extra risk for other cancers but she is at risk to get more basal cells over the course of her life, especially if she keeps on tanning!. But I do know people who had BCC removed 30+ years ago and have not had a recurrence!. Honestly, if you had to have a cancer, this is the one to have!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Skin cancer has the particularity that it can be seen!. Can express itself as a non healing ulcer, a lump, an abnormally shaped mole!.!.!.then the patient complains on time for it to be removed!. Other cancers can not be seen by the patient with the eyes!.

Depends on the location, a dermatologist could remove it too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used to work for an ENT/ Facial Plastic Surgeon and we used to do MOHS procedures for Basal Cell all the time!. It is completely treatable!. If I were her I would try to find a plastic surgeon vs just an ENT to help with reduction of scaring!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had 5-6 removed since i was in my 30s Im 70 now!. I dont consider it much of a problem as long as you get regular check ups from a dermatologists and have them removed!.!. I get checked every year!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
