Can An Infected Pierced Ear Heal?!

Question:

Can An Infected Pierced Ear Heal?

I got my ear pierced in October 2006 and it still hasnt healed yet. So I decided to just let the hole close and try it again in a couple months. But Im not sure if the infection would go away once the hole closes, and if it stays how would I go about getting rid of it? The infected ear used to be completely swollen, now just the area surrounding the hole is swollen. PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Is this something worth going to the doctor for, and if I just let the ear stay as is...is it going to bring up a problem when I go and get it re-pierced. Its not a cartilage piercing. It's on the lobe.

Answers:

You were probably allergic to the nickel in the earring. The same thing happens to me whenever I anything other than 14K gold. Clean it with rubbing alcohol and put neosporen on it morning and night. When you have it done again, but 14k gold earrings in as soon as their pierced and continue to use the alcohol for about 3 weeks. The other way you could do it is all of the above but when you have it done again use a needle and thread. Yep, a needle and thread. Thread it through your earlobe and tie the thread in a knot so you have loop earrings made of thread. Then nightly with rubbing alcohol clean your ears and pull the know through every night. After about 2 to 3 weeks you'll have permanant holes, with the inside healed permanently! Just remember not to wear anything but gold!
