Strep throat and penicillin...?!

Question: Strep throat and penicillin!.!.!.!?
Okay, so yesterday I went to the doctor and she said I have strep throat!. She prescribed me a bottle of penicillin (she was going to prescribe me something else, but I took it for a year when I was around 4 for my kidneys so I've developed an immunity to it, it's a long story), and I have to take it three times a day for ten days!.

But today I feel much better, I'm not sure but I think I just had a /sore/ throat, not strep!. But she's a doctor and she clearly knows more about her stuff than I do, but!.!.!. what if!? What if I'm taking this penicillin for nothing, and what if I develop an immunity to it too for taking it if I in fact don't have strep!? Or should I just keep taking the penicillin!? Doctors know what they're doing, and she said I had all the characteristic signs of strep!.!.!. so yeah, why do I feel better now!? I don't think the penicillin would work after having it only twice so far!.!.!.

In a nutshell: should I keep taking the penicillin or not!?

(I'm sorry for not really being specific here, I'm just wondering!.!.!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dear Salami,

In a nutshell: Finish the prescribed antibiotics, kiddo!.

In detail:
The initial doses of antibiotics start to attack the infection immediately!. Generally speaking, once you have ingested antibiotics for a 24 hour period, you are no longer at risk for being contagious!. (This is the rule of thumb for school age children!.) You are feeling better already and are thinking, "What the heck, I am better already!."

If you prematurely cease taking the prescribed antibiotics, there is a greater risk of your new, stronger, strep infection of returning!. The return will be with vengeance and more than likely, will be resistant to some degree to the currently prescribed medication as dosed originally!.

As a female, we are at risk with antibiotic therapy (especially a prolonged course) of developing a yeast imbalance (candida)!. If this happens to you, contact your doctor for diflucan to restore your balance!.

I know I went into "what-if" situations with this answer, but your gut instinct to follow the physicians advice was really right on target!.

Follow your gut
Follow your physician's advice and prescription
And, get better soon! (Strep is not to be taken lightly!)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Penicillin can act quite quickly so this is probably why you are feeling better!. You should take it for the length of time that your doctor has recommended otherwise you could have a relapse!.

By the way, it is not you that develops an immunity to the penicillin but the bacterium (Streptococcus) that can develop a restistance to the antibiotic (penicillin)!. This is why some people are against the over prescription of antibiotics by doctors ! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Salami,
You are a great thinker, I' proud of you!.

Doctors are good at what they have been trained to know, but they haven't been traind in all things!.

The Mayo clinic has stated that all upper resperatory disease is caused by fungus!. Penicillin is a fungus!. Do you want to treat a fungus by ingesting a fungus!? You will feel better for a short period of time, but the fungus WILL come back because it has not been killed off!.

To kill fungus you must first start by starving it and then killing it!. Stop all sugar intake as fungus loves sugar to feed on!. Kill it by taking Nystatin or Dystatin or some other ANTI-fungal med!. Vicks VapoRub in the nostrels works well!.

Change the diet so as not to feed the things that fungus thrives on!.

Check out the home for any molds residing there and clean them out with grapefruit seed extract!. Bleach is not effective!. Read in the Bible in the book of Leviticus chapter 14 starting around verse 32!. It tells how to handle mold, even way back then!.
