Diabetics and Bone Strengthening non-prescription drugs.?!

Question:

Diabetics and Bone Strengthening non-prescription drugs.?

My grandmother recently fell over and cracked one of her bones in her hip. Being 89 and still healthy, shes beginning to lose her appetite. Im concerned for her health and wondered what type of vitamins and calcium tablets would help her strengthen her bones.

I have searched online and read thru many articles and found that Caltrate was a good choice. Im not sure if this would affect her diabeties due to glucose or sugar amounts inside these calcium tablets.

shes lives in China so these types of meds aren't available over there and I would like to ship some back to her.

I also found some types of drinks similar to infant formula for diabetics such as :Entrex Diabetic, Ensure, Gluco Burst, and Glucerna.

If anyone has any knowledge about diabetics and bone strengthening meds. please enlighten me with your knowledge and possible some sources that I can research on. thanks!

well, shes always been mobile. she doesn't have thin bones or anything, but i just wanted something to strengthen it even more than it is. its nothing serious or anything.

Answers:

Listen, if shes that old and has thin bones, she needs a prescription strength medicine such as boniva, actonol, fosamax, etc... Calcium supplements will help, but not even close to any of the prescription stuff out there.
