look the statistics up at cdc!.gov between 57 and 68 percent of americans have the virus and thats not including hsv-2 or other communicable diseases!. I have HSV-1 on my mouth and lead a completely normal life!. You would be running for the rest of your life to avoid it!. no eating or drinking after people, worrying if your new "hsv-1 free" girl eats or drinks after people!.!.!. yes it is a form of herpes which is a virus!. the virus lives inside a person and will form a blister if the person is under stress or has a fever thus the term fever blister!. the virus should only be contagous while the blister is filled with fluid!. the type of herpes you get on your genitals is a different type!. although if someone has a blister on their lip and has contact with the genitals you can get herpes simplex 1 in the genital area and if a persons mouth comes in contact with herpes simplex 2 (genital herpes) you can get it on your mouth!. I have herpes simplex 1 (oral) but my husband of 11 years has never contracted it!. So don't be afraid of your girlfried or make her feel like a leppur!. just avoid contact while it is still a fluid filled blister!. you can hug her and even kiss her cheek!

she could of kissed her mother, father, family member, shared food or beverage with someone Who has the virus as most people do
they have a blood test for it now to see if you have type 1 or 2-so until it is gone-no kissing or oral sex- if she has herpes (cold sore) and gives you oral sex you will get herpes 2 which is way worse than a cold sore!!!

Cold sores are herpes, HSV1!. Approximately 90% of the population have this and most got it from some relative kissing them while they were young!. Herpes can lay dormant for years!.!.!.even forever!. It can also be spread to the genitals through oral sex!.

Yes, it means she has the herpes virus!. But it really does not need to be a big deal!. Many people, if not most people, have the cold sore virus dormant in their bodies, and never have a flare up of cold sores!. You probably have it yourself!. They may have contracted it as children, as it is a very common virus, and children pick it up easily as they often share food and drinks, and may be less concerned about hand washing and hygiene!.

There is no over-the-counter medication or home remedy that cures cold sores!. Talk to your doctor about a prescription for Valtrex, which is an anti-viral medication that stops cold sores in their tracks!. It will lessen your outbreaks, and make them much less severe when you do get a cold sore!. None of the other treatments come close to the effectiveness of Valtrex, certainly not Abreva or anything else!.
