Will vasoconstriction (caused by ADD meds) cause ED?!

Question: Will vasoconstriction (caused by ADD meds) cause ED!?
Lately when I have taken Adderall my hands, feet and lower leg become noticeably colder!. Also my erections haven't been as strong and dont last as long which make it difficult to enjoy sex!. After researching I found the reason is from vasoconstrictuion caused by my adderall prescription!. Is it possible that long term use will cause permanent peripheral vascular problems!? I should also mention my doctor found that my systolic blood pressure was high (for the first time in my life) and im only 21 years old!.

I'd really appreciate any kind of help, thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yeah, Adderall (amphetamine) has side effects!.

Amphetamines and all stimulants cause increased heart rate, vasoconstriction, and other "fight response" (fight or flight) effects of sympathetic stimulation!. And your right, vasoconstriction (and blood flow) affects sex!. In fact, viagra causes vasodilation (the opposite)!. So it kind of makes sense that amphetamines could affect sexual function, duration, or enjoyment!.

High BP is also bad!. Will is cause peripheral vascular problems!? No, not likely, what is more likely is that it will cause coronary artery problems which can be permanent (or deadly, which is also permanent)!.

There is a link between stimulants and Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)!. See http://cat!.inist!.fr/!?aModele=afficheN&cp!.!.!.

or

This study provides more evidence that cocaine use may contribute to the development of coronary artery disease!. (http://www!.addictionstudies!.org/science_!.!.!.

I can't find a good one for amphetamine abuse, but there is increasing evidence there is a link between stimulants and heart disease, particularly CAD!.

Judging by your e-mail, I doubt you NEED the Adderall!. I would recommend weaning yourself off it, in consultation with your doc!. I mean, do you want to be addicted or dependent upon a medication, and have BP problems and impotence problems at 21!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
