Question: Someone i work with had Shingles!?
I am waiting for my doctors office to get back from lunch to call them but i just found out that someone i work with has Shingles!. I am pregnant and i am 19 weeks 4 days along should i be worried!? I have had chicken pox which makes me safe but what about the baby!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you had chicken pox before, you will have antibodies in your blood!. These will attack any virus that enters your system!. You can ask your doctor to do a blood test to check you for antibodies!. If you are really worried, avoid the coworker until you speak with your doctor!. Chicken pox is dangerous for the baby if you are not immune!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You should call you OB/GYN and talk to them!. You are are suseptable to this illness being pregnant, you need to talk to your doctor!. You can still get shingles even if youve had chickenpox!.!.More than likely youll be ok though!.!.!.
