Tinea Versicolor???? ..question help.?!

I have all these white spots with no pigment on my back and they had spread to my chest because it went unnoticed for a long time!. I went to the dr last april and he said its most likely tinea versicolor from tanning beds etc!.!.!.!. So he told me to use the Selsun blue shampoo for tinea versicolor for one week straight!.!. then thereafter once a month!.!. and leave it on for 15 minutes each time!. I wasn't tanned over the summer, just got back from mexico and there they all are again!.!.!. NO CHANGE!.!.!.!. whats going on !?!?!?!? i'm worried they will continue spreading!.!. how do I make the pigment return!? help!.

My son had it really bad on his arms and we used the Selsun Blue shampoo and actually left it on there longer than 15 min!.!.!. usually 30-45!.!.!.!. then rinsed it really well!. It cleared it up!. pretty quick!. It will be something that will continue to flare up when you are exposed to the heat and your skin gets too dry!.
