Maybe someone knows what's wrong with me (Allergic Reaction)?!
Question: Maybe someone knows what's wrong with me (Allergic Reaction)!?
Tuesday morning I woke up with my eyes swollen shut and red blotches all over my face, ears, and neck!. I went to a doctor and he told me I must have eaten something I was allergic to and to take a lot of Benadryll!. After 24 hours there was no improvement and it only took the itch away!. I went to another doctor yesterday and she isn't positive, but pretty sure it's some form of hives!. She gave me an RX for Prednisone which doesn't help with the itching but as of this morning only cleared it up about 30%!.
The only thing I can think of the causes out-breaks in most people are shell-fish and peanuts!. Unfortunately I had both last Saturday (although I've NEVER had a reaction to them before)!. Could it be one of those even though my body didn't break out until 3 days later!. Can it take that long for a body to react!? Do you know anything that only causes out-breaks on the face and neck!? Also, why didn't the Benadryll take it away and why isn't the prednisone working faster!? Also, is it okay to use Calamine for the itch!. These are things my doctor couldn

OK I have a PhD for immunology and have so many allergies it is not believable but I do have to say that yes it is an allergic reaction and also that it is severe but you are lucky as you did not lose your life!. It is that bad!.
What you had was a mild anaphilaxis attack!. Next time it will be serious!. Take my word for it
You must never ever have shellfish or nuts again!. Any sort of them or crabs or lobster!.
OK for the lecture!. The body can take up to a week somettimes for a reaction to come!. Most often it is immediate and within two minutes if you get no help that is it!.
What to do about how you are now!. The skin looks awful do not wash it!. I would suggest you use aloe vera gel and smother yourself withi it!. It does go sticky and then dries!. So wear no clothing on the patches you do!. Do this three times a day till it clears and then twice and then once!. befoer stopping about three days after it has gone!.
next I always advice no medicine as the body is already in trouble and generally nothing helps!. It is a case of lettiing the body subside itself!.

You actually should have gone to the ER not just to your doctor if you have swelling as you were having a fairly severe reaction!. You are lucky it did not get any worse!. There are actually a lot of things that can cause an allergic reaction!. Did you try any new
When i had a severe reaction I first did what you did and went to the dr and he just told me to take a lot of benedryl, which i did!. Woke up the next morning with my eye half swollen shut so I went to the ER where my heart rate was 130 because of the benedryl!. They got me hooked up to a bunch of monitors and gave me prednisone through an iv and reactine (another antihistimine which is more powerful than benedryl but benedryl works fasters)!. Eventually the hives and such disapeared but they wouldn't even give me water for 3 hrs since they were scared my throat was gonna swell and I was going to choke!.
