By taking ibuprofen or tylenol on a regular basis; consider getting a strep test done to make sure it isn't a bacterial infection; gargle with warm salt water frequently and spit out; rest as much as possible; increase your fluid intake - cold fluids often feel best; run a humidifier in the bedroom where you sleep!. You can take Vitamin C!. Also take something to kill the pain!. Ibuprophin, Tylenol, Alleve!. In addition get something like Cepacol Spray!. Something which has 20% benzocine in it!. That will get rid of the immediate pain!.
