Doctor put me back on a medicine i was taking when i attempted suicide?!

Question: Doctor put me back on a medicine i was taking when i attempted suicide!?
why!? well okay, he put me on 40mg celexa!. about 5 months ago i was on and off lexapro 20mg frequently, like each week for 2 months on and off!. from what i've been reading celexa is just an old version of lexapro!. Its the generic that im taking, but the same thing!.

Why would a doctor do this!? i told him i was taking lexapro when i tried to kill myself in the past!. Is there realy any difference besides lexapro being a new version!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Gabe; finally got to answer one of your questions and am very interested in your progress with different med!. I, too, have been changing my antidepression meds every so often because I believe we become immune to them after a while!. I have never been on lexapro and don't really know if it is considered on "old version" of celexa!. I was on celexa for a few years and liked the fact that it was one of the original antidepressants and had the least amount of side-effects!. Those side effects can cause alot of harm! About your doctor: How long have you been seeing him!? May be good idea to get 2nd opinion!. Also, I was on cymbalta after the celexa but after awhile, I was crying all the time and really depressed even though I was taking the cymbalta, so my medical dr!. told me to try 75mg of effexor 2x a day!. I took the effexor right after stopping the cymbalta and had no withdrawal symtoms whatsoever!! I like the effexor and I think once my brain realizes that I am gonna be on it, it will let me have "better dreams!"!. Also, my life situation has changed since I started the effexor and that has helped my whole outlook on life!. And Life for everyone is an individual Journey!! Hope to talk again soon and that you are feeling better!.!!!!! See yaWww@Answer-Health@Com
