Can a person be born with herpes?!
Question:
Can a person be born with herpes?
Answers:
Yes, but it is EXTREMELY rare.
It's estimated about 0.1% of babies born will actually contract the virus during birth. And, if the baby does contract the virus, they have about a 25% chance of it becoming fatal.
"Less than 0.1% of babies born in the United States each year get neonatal herpes. By contrast, some 25-30% of pregnant women have genital herpes. This means that most women with genital herpes give birth to healthy babies."
