Is there anyone out there who are t1 diabetic who have been called a brittle diabetic?
i was diagnosed 4yrs ago this coming dec. within 3 days of being told i was in ICU fighting for my life (DKA) my sugars still aren't under control and complications are setting in. my dr. has classified my a ti brittle diabetic and says we may never get them under control. i take 4-6 shots a day. it gets depressing is there anyone else out there like me?

Yes. There are people out there just like you. It really beats a person down. It always seemed to me like the harder I tried, the worse it got. I lived like that for about 20 years. Then I got a pump. My A1c went from 12.5 (very bad!) to 7.5 in about 90 days. I have to work at it everyday, but I am slowly regaining my life. There is always hope. Good luck to you.
