Question: Puppy has tapeworms and I'm pregnant!!? HELP!?
We got this puppy and I had him dewormed three weeks ago and now he's passing pieces of tapeworm and I am six weeks pregnant!. I have had diarrhea for two days and loss of appetite I am freaking out,of course I am going to call my doctor but has anyone else ever heard of thisWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tapeworms have a multi-stage lifecycle:
1) an infected dog or cat passes tapeworm segments (which are full of eggs)!.
2) Flea larvae eat the tapeworm eggs!.
3) As the flea larvae grow up into adult fleas, the tapeworm eggs hatch and also start developing inside the fleas!.
4) A mammal eats an infected adult flea!.
5) After consuming the flea, an adult tapeworm develops in the mammal's intestine!.
Theoretically, yes, it's possible for humans to get tapeworm, but only if you've been eating infected fleas!. Unless you've been licking your dog, it's a pretty low risk!. Definitely see the doc about the diarrhea anyway, but rest assured that in industrialized countries, human infection with tapeworm is rare!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

drink some pedialite!. deworm the pup again!. you'll both be fine!. he's supposed to pass tapeworm when you worm him!. you should always worm dog again after 10 days!. you drink some pedialite and your appetite will come back!. relax, breathe easy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
u didnt know that if you're pregnant, you have to get away from animals, especially cats & also dogs!.!.!.coz you could be infected by it!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
