No, if anything the acidity would simply increase the damage done to surrounding skin. The best scar reduction cream on the market is a product called Mederma. It works best on new scars, but will help smooth old ones as well. It was a prescription medication for many years, very popular with dermatologists, but now available over the counter. There are no homemade remedies that really work, not on old scars. If the scar is a keloid, there is really not much that can be done short of surgery to resect the scar. For that you need either a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. Otherwise, get some Mederma.
