Did your doctor mention anything about migraine!? Migraines are a type of headache, usually severe and temporarily debilitating in some people, but they are strange and don't always cause pain!. Sometimes you can have one and the only symptoms you have are changes in your vision (temporarily, minutes/hours), or neck pain!. Some people see squiggly lines, flashing, or get dark tunnel vision before they get the headache!. Do you experience any nausea ever!? Does light, sound, or even smell make your headaches worse or bring them on!? Is the pain in the back of your head near the top of your neck!? These are all good signs of migraine!. Also it might be good to take note of what you're eating/drinking!. Caffeine triggers headaches in a lot of people; some say chocolate does; alcohol!.!.!. Next time you get your symptoms take note of what you ate!. Drink lots of water as dehydration can give you headaches!.

I would also try an OTC med like Aleve or Naproxen at the first sign of symptoms!. If that doesn't work, go back to your doc and ask if you can try a prescription migraine med like Imitrex, Maxalt, or Relpax which are used as "rescue" meds for when you suddenly get a headache!. Other meds like Topamax are taken daily to prevent migraines, but this is usually reserved for people who get severe migraines often and can't function at all when having one!.

If your insurance covers it, and your doc thinks it might help, get a referral to a neurologist, the doc who specializes in migraine!. Even if it's not migraines, it would be worth it for the neurologist to assess your situation, refer you for diagnostic tests (like an MRI), and try different treatments and follow-up with you regularly!. Good luck =)Www@Answer-Health@Com
