Treating smokers on the NHS....?!

Question:

Treating smokers on the NHS....?

Just a thought but i read recently that smoking related illnesses cost the NHS between 1.4 and 1.7 billion pounds a year. As the smokers of britain contribute upwards of 11 billion a year and all of it goes to the NHS my question is should the NHS treat non smokers for free?

Answers:

i think they should but should stop smoking before an operation to decrease dangers, afterwards its the smokers decision whether or not to smoke again
