Which is better to use depends on what you are trying to acheive. If you still want to tan but do so safely, you want to use a sunscreen. If you do not want to tan, you want to use a sunblock.
There is a difference between sunscreen and sunblock! Sunblock does not have a SPF rating because it blocks all UV rays. Some products will claim to be sunblocks but if they have an SPF rating, they are not sunblocks...they are sunscreens. A sunblock has no SPF rating and will prevent tanning since it blocks all rays. A sunscreen, on the otherhand, allows for safe tanning.
