Problem with eyesight?
I have an issue. I am 16 years old and have a myoptic vision. My right eye is a -5.00 and my left is a -4.50. I went to see my eye doctor today and all he did was measure and look at my eyes without providing any answers on how to improve my vision. Last year I tried vision therapy for about a month but could not make see an improvement in my vision. Since I was 12 or so, My vision has been steadily detiriorating. Is it possible that it will improve later on without corrective surgery? What things can I do to slow down or stop my vision from deteriorating? It is just so depressing...Im only 16 and this is my only medical-related issue. Im just looking for answers on how to best get out of this situation.

In all honesty i dont really see how you would be able to stop this horrible process without surgery. If therapy didnt do it then im not so sure. It is a natural process of ours eyes regardless of anything to get worse with time. My eye prescriptions increased drasticallly in only a year. At first I was pretty upset but it happens. With time sadly our eyes only get worse, so the solution is to either get corrective lenses, glasses or refractive surgery. Sorry! :(
