Does this sound like asthma?!

Question:

Does this sound like asthma?

I've always had excessive mucus. Everybody I know says I clear my throat constantly. When I used to live in New England, I had more trouble breathing. Now I live in TX, I hadn't had any problems breathing for a long time, but for the past year, its been getting a bit more consistent.

It will usually happen at night. I will start to get a lot of mucus, and I will try to cough it out, then it will become a dry cough, and I will have coughing fits for about an hour or two, or until I take some albuterol.

Answers:

It might be asthma. Have you been checked for allergies? I clear my throat a lot too (enough that it's noticeable at times to people cause I have to do it so much) when I'm having sinus drainage. I have more problems with it at night, but albuterol doesn't help it, so that's what makes me think mine is allergy related. I can't really say what yours might be...check it out with your doctor.
