Answers:
As rightly pointed out by the previous answerer, Rabies virus is transmitted only by a rabid animal through its saliva!. The requisites for transmission of rabies are 1!. That the saliva of the animal should come in contact with the blood of the human!. The virus can not penetrate intact skin!. It can not survive the acid of the stomach so ingestion or oral intake of saliva will not transmit infection!. 2!. That the animal must be rabid, that is it must be harbouring the virus within it at the time of biting or licking the raw wound!.
Presuming that the kitten was rabid and that it really bit so that the virus got transmitted to your blood, which is not true in your case, then washing the wound with any ordinary or carbolic soap immediately will kill most of the virus!. The virus can not stand detergent soap!. It is not necessary to wash any thing "hard" (!?)!.
As a thumb rule the rabid dog does not survive more than 5 to 7 days after infection!. Therefore observing the dog for about 10 days should be sufficient to say that the animal was not rabid at the time of inflicting the wound!. In case the dog dies within this 10 day observation period, then we may presume that it was rabid otherwise not!. So no further action needed!.
After the contact with blood/ wound the virus travels through the nerve sheath slowly upwords to the Central Nervous system before it can become really life threatening!. Therefore the human victim has sufficient time to get the vaccination in case he thinks that the virus has indeed entered into his body!.
From the foregoing it is very clear that your case does not merit any further action!. If you are still worried you may just observe the kitten and make sure that it is alive and well after 10 days after the incident!.
It is not possible to transmit rabies through a spoon by mouth at all!. Relax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first of all, rabies can be transmitted by a rabid animal!. Its mode of transmission is through animal bites, so there is a very little chance for you to acquire it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
