There are two types of cerebrovascular accidents or what we commonly call a stroke!. There is the ischemic type- lack of blood supply to the brain!. the second type is the hemorrhagic type- from ruptured blood vessels in the cranial vault!.
In TIA- by the name itself, there is a need to maintain adequate blood supply to the brain!. That is the reason why the blood pressure should be optimized (not necessarily to be increased too much)- to assure the brain of its food and nutrients (blood)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

After a TIA or ischemic stroke, the doc will want to maintain the BP at a higher than normal level!. This is because in these situations, regulatory mechanisms in your brain may be a bit messed up, and if your BP drops to normal, your blood vessels may constrict and cut off blood flow to some parts of your brain, causing another stroke!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
