What is causing red, flaky patches of skin on my head?!

Question: What is causing red, flaky patches of skin on my head!?
Recently i have developed dry flaky little patches of skin on the crown of my head and around the hairline!. When i pick them (apologies for being so graphic!), flakes come off and the skin underneath is red raw!. Can anyone shed any light on what this could be!?
ps- Iam a 29-year-old male
pps- I drink quitealot of beer!. Do you think it could maybe be caused by dehydration because usually of drinking more beer than water!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
quit picking it
change your shampoo and hairstyling products pref!. to unscented ones
buy some Eucerin calming and itch relief cream at the drug storeWww@Answer-Health@Com

it actually sounds more like psoriasis, which is a skin disorder similar to eczema!. your best bet is to stop picking and see a dermatologist!. in the mean time switch to a tea tree shampoo and conditioner like Paul Mitchell Tea tree special shampoo and conditioner!. tea tree is a natural disinfectant and antibacterial and the paul mitchell tea tree is very moisturizing which will be great for your scalp since in this cooler weather season your scalp drying out can cause more itching and flaking!. hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

This sounds very much like psoriasis, my son and daughter both suffer with this condition, my daughter gets it on her scalp!.!.!. well to be honest her scalp it completely covered at the moment!.!.
You can buy shampoos to help relieve the symptoms!.

visit your GP!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Eczema- it's my guess, because I had it too!. BUT dehydration does alot of funky things to you!.

Sit back - drink a beer- and don't stress! Because stress makes it worse!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try Neutrogena T Gel Shampoo, it also comes in a generic store brand!. Works wonders for psoriasis or eczema in the hair!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could be that you are not rinsing your hair properly,or you are stressed go to the dr if you are really worried and don't pick it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

drink more water and use sunscreen I know it sounds mad but it protects skin in the winter as well as summer I use it on my face!.
Or go to doctors could be allergyWww@Answer-Health@Com
