Liver damage, how can I find out?!

Question:

Liver damage, how can I find out?

I have been abusing wine, cider and vodka for a while now, and have decided to stop all together. But am really worried how much damage I have done to my self. I have been drinking on average 14 units a day 5 times a week for a while.
How can I find out without going to the doc, is there a test I can do at how say with a urine sample?

Additional Details

Answers:

chances are youve caused some damage, but not likely to be any major problems, and if you stop now, any damage to your liver will heal, as the liver can mend itself, but goin on what your saying, it wont be that easy to stop, as alchol is physically and mentally addictive,so youll need some help and advice, believe me, i no, i drank for 11 years and i was drinking around 200-300 units a week. my liver was very badly damaged, but i got into a detox and rehab, im now soba 18months and my liver hasnt long got back to normal levels. but you wont be able to find out the extent of the damage caused, without a liver function test this has to be carri8ed out by a nurse or doctor, good luck in your attempt to get soba, its a long hard road, but theres plenty of places were you can get help and support, your doctor can always give you numbers of local agencys, but there must be a reason you are drinking most nights, them reasons will have to be looked at,
