It kind of takes some getting used to!. It will draw it in, but unlike the Accu-chek curve strips and others, you need to hold your finger just a little away from the strip!. Just let the drop touch the little canal and it will suck it in, don't press on it!. Also make sure you have a big enough drop of blood, and that the blood is not smeared at all!. They all claim to only need a miniscule amount of blood, but in reality you need to get a decent drop going before it will suck it in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

give a call to the lifescan company if you continue to have this problem and verify whether or not you may have a faulty batch of strips!.!. complain enough and they may elect to send you some replacement strips!.

FYI:there is a current recall for:
OneTouch Ultra Test Strips- 25-count from Lot #2829235 Only -- September 29, 2008

the number one tip when using one touch test strips is to get first of all a large enough of a blood drop!. also when applying the blood drop to the strip, do not press finger up directly against the strip!. let the blood drop hang and form a bridge between your finger and the edge of the strip!. apply the blood drop to the top edge of the strip and not the sides of the strip and not sitting on top of the flat side of the strip!. if you've done all this and it is still not sucking in the blood, check test strip expiration date, check whether or not it is a new test strip and not a previously used one, also check whether the correct end of the test strip was inserted into the meter!.!.the black and white raised grooves should go face up into the meter!. check if the strips may have been exposed to air for too long, or if they may have been exposed to liquids or moisture prior to being used!. any of these issues could pose a problem!. if still all else fails, try a new vial of test strips or call Lifescan Customer support @ 800 227-8862
good luck with your strips!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
