Why would I get red bumps on my legs after sitting in the grass?!

Why would I get red bumps on my legs after sitting in the grass?

is it possibly an allergic reaction to pesticides/grass treatment

You might be right, it could also be insect bites. If it was in a area used by people walking there pets (dogs) it could be flea bites.
