What do you think, could I be diabetic?!

Question: What do you think, could I be diabetic!?
My BF was recently diagnosed with type 2!. Out of curiosity, we checked my blood!. Before eating it was 70!. 2 hours later, 2 hot dogs, handful of cheetos, and 2 tiny bit size Twix candy bars, it was 240!!!!
I had some blood work done 2 weeks ago and it was 99, after half a bag of candy corn and a coke!. Why did it go so high after the hot dogs!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
With two tests solidly in the normal range, it's most unlikely that your 240 reading indicates anything other than a faulty test!. Something as simple as failing to wash your hands thoroughly before testing could explain a sky-high reading!.

There is certainly no harm in continuing to test yourself!. The more tests you do, the easier it will be for you to gauge what's normal for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you ate that much carbs of course your levels will go very high!.
Keep testing before you eat and 2 hours after you eat do this for one week!. Make a schedule!. The next time you see your doctor give him the schedule!. You have to be diagnosed after having your sugars levels checked for a bit not just on the spot!.
If the levels are too high, meds are the answer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wouldn't know what the levels that you test are, in britain we need to be between about 4 and 8 mmo/l - I don't know how it translates, however - check for other symptoms - are you needing more drinks than usual (feeling dry all the time) or do you go to the toilet several times a night!?If the meter does a ketone test, (I think only optium xceed meters do that) - are ketones high!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My grandmothers diabetic doctor told her that a normal persons blood sugar is never suppose to go over 150!. If it does then your body is not metabolizing sugar right!. I would go to the doctor!. Have them do every test possible to test for diabetes because your A1C and your glucose tolerance test can be normal and you can still have it!. (it happen to my mom and grandmother) Www@Answer-Health@Com

Test again!. Sounds like your test site had something on it!. Or his meter is screwed up!. Your blood sugar will go up after you eat that much carbs but not that much!. If you are worried about it have the doctor perform an A1c!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depending on your eating habits you might be border line diabetic, but if so you can change that by getting on a mild diet and losing weight could help!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
