Hepatitis B?!

Question:

Hepatitis B?

Someone told me that researchers have proved that "Hepatis B" is transmitted through sweat. Supposedly, a wrestler passed the disease to his fellow wrestlers through the bodily fluid. Do any of you have links (reliable) to some of these studies? What do you think about that? What about those of us who go to the gym? What about crowded places like nightclubs where people are al packed in together and sweating? If this info is true, what can we do to prevent it? what other diseases are trasmitted through sweat?

Answers:

Simply finding traces of a bug in sweat does not necessarily make it transmissible that way. While they did find Hep B in the wrestler's sweat, further studies showed you couldn't spread the infection that way. A PubMed scouring found nothing about Hep B sweat-transmission beyone the turkish wtrestlers, and even those articles included a caveat stating that the wrestlers admittedly wrestled while they had open sores or wrestled when bleeding. given how hardy Hep B is and how infectious it is in blood, I'd peg the transmission on bleeding sores while wrestling.

But if you were really worried, then you could get VACCINATED against Hep B. Problem solved.
