kay.so i have this scar on my knee that is swollen up and it used to be normal. and i dont know how i got it either. my dads gf thinks its just an abnormal scar thats healing differently cuz she used to get them. but mine is weird. and it looks swollen around it now...that just now happened in the last week that i noticed and there is also a couple bumps around it. do u think its just a scar healing over or a tumor or something?? has anyone had any of these? what should i do besides going to a doctor which i may do if it doesnt start going away soon.

What you are describing can be either a hypertrophic scar or a keloid but a visit to a dermatologist would be in order for find out for sure. No, it is not healing "over a scar or something" it is just the way your body is healing.
I have a tendency to form keloids. They do not go away on their own and they are also very difficult to treat. I am not vain so I have just learned to live with them. I have one that runs across my back from shoulder to shoulder. Please see a dermatologist for help in minimizing the appearance of your scar. Remember though, it is a scar so it will never go away...all that can be done is to try to make it less noticeable.
