Is it dangerous to drink alcohol while taking antibiotics?!

Question:

Is it dangerous to drink alcohol while taking antibiotics?

Answers:

How much alcohol are we talking here? And what is the pre-existing condition of your liver?
If we are talking half a glass of wine and you are a 150 lb person who is otherwise healthy, then it is usually fine, as long as the antibiotic you are taking does not warn you against drinking any. Usually those warnings are because the antibiotic is broken down in the liver, where alcohol is also broken down. If you already have a compromised liver... well, you can see where this is going.
It is best to not drink anything but hydrating fluids while you are ill... Alch will dehydrate you, so I do not recc. it .
But is it dangerous? I think the answer is that it is antibiotic and patient dependent and needs to be answered by your personal health care professional on a case by case basis.
