What works for ppl who havequit smoking?!


Question: What works for ppl who havequit smoking!?
ive tried everything, and they seem to work for a while, but then i start smokin' again!. suicide could work, but then again why quit right!!! lol nah, seriously, what works!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am a current smoker!. I have been told by my doctor, that a lot of it is all in your mind!. A lot of it is feeling the cigarette in your hand!. Find something to hold on to, such as a pen!.!.!. There are also a lot of things out there to help with quitting, such as a new pill called Chantix!. It did not work for me, but has worked for several people!. The only problem with that, is that it is expensive for those who are uninsured!. I myself have been working on quitting for years, but my own doctor told me it would be worse for my health to actually quit!. Some people are under so much stress, that its the positive receptors you recieve in your brain from smoking, that help you cope!. If you are uninsured, i would say don't give up on yourself!. When it is time to quit, you will!. Obviously you know that you want to quit, but arent completely ready yet!. Just keep trying!.!.!.!.!. Set a goal!. Every day that you dont buy a pack of smokes, set that money aside, and save it for something nice!. Keep a pen in your hands, just for the mental feeling!.!.!.!.!. i tried the gum and it didn't work for me!. i did quit smoking but i was getting nicotine still from the gum!. and got hooked on that!. so i went back to smoking!. then i decided id rather lose a lip than a lung, so i started dipping snuff!. grizzly long cut wintergreen worked best for me but it all taste bad!. pack it in your lip get your nicotine like that!. stay on it till your used to it and no longer care for a cigarette!. then what i did was put a really huge dip in my mouth and swallowed on purpose got sicker then a dog when that whole dip went down!. and now i ha vent had any nicotine in 2 years!. ans the thought of a dip still makes me sickWww@Answer-Health@Com

I quit with the help of an Oprah episode with Dr!. Oz on it!. I was smoking for 15 years and had tried almost everything!. Then I started taking Champix/Chantix, made a quit date, got candy, sunflower seeds, anything to help keep my hands busy, and finally I got acupuncture to help!. I only went twice, but it totally helped!.

I also had to stop doing anything that would trigger me to smoke!.!.!. so I didn't hang around my smoker friends for a couple weeks until I could handle it!. I have been breathing free and healthy for 8 months, my quit date was Feb 29/08 and I haven't had a relapse!. I can even jog again and not get winded!.

I used a drug called Champ X!. It gave me pretty crazy dreams for awhile but made me not want to smoke anymore!. I've been a non smoker now for 11 months and have no desire to start again!. You really have to be in the mind frame and want to quit!. Whenever I see someone smoking now I try to imagine how I would feel if I had a smoke, it makes my stomach turn!. And I remember the smell of my fingers, which I always hated when smoking!
It doesn't work for everyone though, my friend tried it too and she is smoking again!. But it is worth looking into!

I quit smoking twice!. Very hard!. But both times I got pregnant!. I just quit cold turkey!. It was hard to be around other people who smoked for a little while and sometimes I still get the urge!. Just stay strong and tell yourself " Im going to try to quit smoking" tell yourself " I am going to quit smoking!. No Questions"!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Heres one no doctor will tell you because all they want is your money!. thats all they really want!. First find out why you smoke!? you bored, want something in your hands, stressed!.!.!.!. list could go on forever!. once you notice why you are smoking then it will be easier to quit!. Once you get the feeling to go pick up a smoke go do something else!. don't have any on you toss them away and don't get any!. leave your money somewhere else and credit/debit cards at home so you can't buy a pack!. There has to be a reason why you smoke other then addicted!. I've see people quit with just this! It may just because you need some fresh air and the only way to get out is to have a smoke!.

well for one, why quit!? !.!. you should quit not just for yourself, but for the people you love and everyone around you's sake, since you are hurting everyone else with your selfish toxic puffing!. Not to be rude, but my view on smokers is that they are selfish and ignorant because they don't give a **** about the people they are making sick with their habbit!.

Try cinnamon sticks, I've seen people nibble on them or just keep them in their mouth so they are occupied!.

You could take up nail biting !.!.

Eat more !.!. it will occupy your mouth and hands since food should taste better without all that **** clogging your taster and sniffer!.

cold turkey and when i was good and ready to give it up!. I had a real stressful time last month and thought I wanted a cigarette, I bummed one and it was the nastiest thing ever to me!. I had to prove to myself that I'm stronger than a cigarette and stronger than it's hold on me!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

they say that if you maintain not to smoke within 21 days then you can really quit and get rid of it for sure! that's what they say!.!.!.
But i'm not sure if it really works, you see, i don't smoke!.!.!.

i also took up running, first i could only go one telephone pole to the next!. today i go for miles
