HBsAG reactive & HBsAB reactive, is it possible to be immune at the same tim!

Question:

HBsAG reactive & HBsAB reactive, is it possible to be immune at the same time infected with Hepa B?

The only results provided on the blood test were those two above. What can you deduce based on both HBsAG and HBsAB being reactive? Thanks.

Answers:

HBsAG means you have the antigen, or Hep B virus. The HBsAB means you have the antibodies as your body tries to fight off the virus. This test will always show reactive from now on.
For a complete explanation of the Hep B tests, check the link below. You will need to find out if you have chronic infection or if you're in the acute stage. The good news is most people (85%) will clear the hep b virus on their own. The bad news is, hep b is highly sexually transmittable, so please use protection. It is also transmittable through blood to blood contact, so do not share razors or toothbrushes with anyone. Hep b can live outside the human body for days, that's one of the reasons why it's so contagious. If you find you have chronic hep b, please see a gastroenterologist with a large portion of his/her patients with hepatitis. You want someone who is up to date on the latest treatments. Best wishes to you.
