Question:
What the heck was in that bug??
I just killed a small waterbug, and three long, dark, round worms crawled out of it. gross. grossgrossgrossgrossgross. I have a five month old child who just started on babyfood... if that bug had a parasite, could my baby? or would a bug's parasite not inhabit a human? how can i tell if my child or i have a parasite? what foods would roundworm or similar parasite come from? How can i make sure we dont get infested????? GROSSSSS

After some research via the web, i think it was a horsehair worm, which apparently infects insects, but not humans. so that's good. im still going to take the specimen to the health department, just to be sure, but.... whew. that was so weird. cool, in a way, but gross nonetheless.

Hey! Good invesigating although you were grossed out. I am certain it is the horsehair worm. Glad you got there! They can be really gross if you are not expecting them!
