Hepatitis B Question! Please Help..?!

Question: Hepatitis B Question! Please Help!.!.!?
If the mother of a child does not have Hepatitis-B but the father does, will the child have Hepatitis-B!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
from my knowledge, hep B can be transmitted through sexual intercourse!. so, if the husband had hep B, it can be transmitted to the wife and the wife/mother can transmit the virus to her child during delivery process!.

fortunately, whether the baby will be infected with hep B or not is not uncertain!. the risk of having it can be measured by doing certain laboratory investigation (specifically saying, the viral load that the mother have, the HBeAg presentation and whether mother have HIV or not)!. if HBeAg is presence the transmission risk can go up to 90%!.

another thing to measure is the HBsAg level!. this is actually a way to screen whether the mother have Hep B infection or not!. if presence usually what the dr can do is to give HBV immunoglobulin and HBV vaccination in less than 12 hours after the baby had been delivered!.!. this measurement had proved to reduce the transmission risk to less than 3%!. big difference right!.

i know it's a bit complex thing to understand!. but to simply answer your question!.!.!.!.!.yes, it can!.!.!.!.screening is important and other measurement will proceed later!.!.

well, in your case i thing, maybe your mother did not actually having infected by your father!. in that case, i will say, maybe you are not infected but be on the safe side!. just do the test/!. the test does not take too much time, or blood or money!. we called it blood serological test for HBsAg!. just like what i said above!. it really give immediate result just like you test your glucose level or if they send the result to laboratory for much better result, the most it will take is a day or two!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
