Answers:
My mom had lap band done in Jan!. and loves it! She has lost about 90lbs!. Gastric bypass is way too invasive for not much weight to lose!. Lap band is what you would want to do!. Just remember it isn't easy!. You can no longer eat much bread because it will get stuck!. You have to eat slow and listen to what your body tells you!. It will be a lifestyle change!. Gastric bypass should only be used by people that are morbidly obese and it usually is!. 75lbs is nothing!.

edit: band slippage is rare!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here are two web sites that might help you, one for the comparison for both gastric bypass and lap band!.
I had lap band done 4-16-08, down 65 pounds and lots of inches and I had over 150 pounds to lose!. I am very happy with these results!. I was told that I would lose 70 pounds the first year (due to my age, medications and health issues) but in six and half months I am down 65 pounds and like I said very happy!. Most of my health issues are better, off insulin and half of my blood pressure medications has been cut in half!.
I have had no trouble about slippage, so I really don't know how to address that one, but if I did, I would contact the surgeon first!. Good Luck on whatever you figure out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a friend who just returned from the hospital after gastric bypass surgery!. She was going to have a lap band (or laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding) but the doctor talked her into gastric bypass!. I don't know what the arguments were!.

I know several people who have had gastric surgery, including this person's mother, and they seem universally glad they did it!. Many of them look to me like "death warmed over"!.

I gather that lap banding is reversible whereas gastric bypass is not!. That would, to me, be a convincing argument for banding!. If you go for gastric bypass and later regret it, you're screwed!.

But you should ask your questions of a doctor experienced with both procedures; it's a big decision!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why is it people don't want to eat right and exercise!? I bet the whole time you've been "struggling" with your weight you didn't eat right and exercise!. If you get any of those surgeries you better learn to exercise because with rapid weight lose comes tons of hanging skin if you don't !. Then you'll be forced to go in for skin removal because the new body will sag like crazy!. Do yourself a favor and eat healthy and get exercise!. Take the money saved on surgery to do or go somewhere fun!.I wish I could give you an easier answer but the truth is all I got!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
