Excess sweating of the face?!

Question:

Excess sweating of the face?

First off Im not overweight, 6ft 3 in and 180 pounds, but whenever I do anything, be it walking home from school or just standing around talking, I end up sweating! Its really bothering me, so I tried using a thin layer of clear michum deodorant on my forehead, but that didnt help. I asked my parents if we could go ask the doctor about it and they said that sweating releases toxins and Ill kill myself if I stop sweating. easy for them to say, they dont sewat whenever they try to live a life.

Any ideas for antiperspirants that can be used on the face that I could get on my own or what not?

thanks.

Answers:

No don't use anti-persperants on your face, it could be dangerous for your eyes.

Almost everyone sweats on their face, it's natural. However, there is a way to help. I use these a lot when I travel to hot countries.

You know those little towelletes you get you go to the restaurant which come in a small paper package?

You can buy a similar product at the drug store, 20 at a time and keep a few in your pocket. They have a human friendly kind of alcohol in them, the towelette wipes off your face and the alcohol keeps it from sweating for a fair amount of time.

However, I wouldn't be so self concious about it, everybodies face sweats the same as yours or even more so. It's one of those things the human subconsicous mind is geared not to notice. Like you see people chewing their food, your mind directs your eyes elsewhere, you can't help it, you have to make a concious effort to watch someone chew their food.

A sweating face and a dozen other things our minds are hardwired to filter out. There have been articles in Psychology Today and other professional Psychological studies on this kind of human behaviour. I'm sorry I can't think of one just off hand, but if you go to your local library, you'll be able to find something there or something through the reference librarian.

Reference librarians are just dying for people to ask them to find articles and resources, they are far better at finding things like that than the internet, yet most people aren't even aware of them.
