If you can't recall a certain incident that could have triggered the deafness (concert, loud sound in the ears), you should definitely get it checked out!. I lost hearing in my right ear about a year ago and thought it was due to the loud construction equipment I worked near!. Turns out I had a tumor in the back of my head that grew from a cranial nerve there (not coincidentally, that cranial nerve serves hearing and equilibrium in my right side)!.
Thankfully the tumor wasn't cancerous, but it did eventually affect my vision because it grew so big that it was pushing against my optic nerves, among other symptoms such as headaches!. While taking out the tumor didn't save my hearing, it did relieve the other symptoms, which for that I'm thankful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
