Any other ways to treat ADD other than medicine?!

Question:

Any other ways to treat ADD other than medicine?

my son has ADD so the doctors say, he is not hyper he just can't concentrate at school or sit still, he has been on a billion different add medicines, i keep changing them because i hate the side affects they cause, the meds do help him focus but he gets stomach aches, doesn't want to eat or sleep i do not want him to have those side affects, i don't want him to take medicine for this period, what else can i do to get my son to focus and concentrate?....any suggestions....without the medicine he falls behind in school and gets bad grades, when he's on it, his school work is great and he doesn't get in trouble as much but he has all those bad side effects, so any suggestions on what i can do to help him without having to give him this medicine...?..thanks

Answers:

I am going back about 35 years ago, but when the doctors told my parents that I had ADD, it was all new then and my parents didn't want to put me on any drugs, so they talk to the Family Doctor, he suggested trying a cup of coffee in the morning and asking the teachers for any work that would help with my grades. according to my parents, it worked 35 years ago. when my ex and I were told that my oldest had ADD they wanted to put him on meds, I refused, I didn't want my son thinking he needed meds to help him cope with life, we decided to go with the cup of coffee in the morning and it seemed to work, he graduated high school with a 3.8 G.A
